CEE Lecture: Post-fire runoff and soil erosion

April 8, 2019 @ 4:10 pm - 5:00 pm

Mariana Dobre- University of Idaho

Mariana is interested in understanding how human and natural disturbances of the environment alter both the availability and the quality of water resources.  She is currently working on maintaining and improving a web-based application of the Water Erosion Prediction Project (WEPP) model for the Lake Tahoe Basin. A major task of this project was to include capabilities to incorporate baseflow, flood routing, sediment transport, and phosphorus delivery, and to develop soil, climate, and management input files specific for the Lake Tahoe Basin. This interface is used by land managers to evaluate the effect of different management practices on the generation and transport of phosphorus to the lake.
