| PFAS, commonly known as forever chemicals, are increasingly detected in environmental matrices such as soils, groundwater, and surface waters. This widespread occurrence presents challenges around human exposure and health implications. This session will cover PFAS sources, contamination pathways, and how PFAS move through the environment. We will also go over how different sectors are affected by contamination issues and the current contamination management strategies.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
- PFAS sources and environmental pathways
- Factors influencing PFAS transport in the environment
- Contamination challenges for utilities, farmers, and private water system users
- Current management options
