This year’s theme, “Limnology – The Next Generation,” was chosen to showcase advancements in lake research and management in the Pacific Northwest, and to elevate the voices of young professionals and future limnologists!
WALPA invites you to share your latest project or research at the 2024 Joint Lakes Conference. Abstracts may be submitted for presentations and/or posters. Potential session topics include, but are not limited to the following:
- Novel lake monitoring technologies, including satellite-based monitoring
- Exciting new lake management technologies
- Nutrient pollution source tracking
- Harmful algal blooms (HABs) research
- Aquatic invasive species
- Algae and aquatic plant management
- Fish ecology
- Urban lakes
- Conservation of lake ecosystems
- Volunteer monitoring and community science
- Student research

Abstract Submission
Please submit your abstract online at OLA’s website. Your submission should include:
- your presentation title
- author(s), noting lead presenter and any student authors
- preference of an oral or poster presentation,
- preference for day of presentation, and
- an brief description of your presentation or poster at 300 words/3,000 characters or less (.pdf or .docx format).
Abstracts are due August 1st. |
