SUMMARY:WEBINAR: An Overview of PFAS Transport in the Environment\, Challenges\, & Management Strategies
DESCRIPTION:MARCH 18\, 2026 | 1:00 – 2:00 PM ET \nAWRA Members = Free; Non-members = $25\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPFAS\, commonly known as forever chemicals\, are increasingly detected in environmental matrices such as soils\, groundwater\, and surface waters. This widespread occurrence presents challenges around human exposure and health implications. This session will cover PFAS sources\, contamination pathways\, and how PFAS move through the environment. We will also go over how different sectors are affected by contamination issues and the current contamination management strategies. \nLEARNING OBJECTIVES: \n\nPFAS sources and environmental pathways\nFactors influencing PFAS transport in the environment\nContamination challenges for utilities\, farmers\, and private water system users\nCurrent management options\n\n  \nSPEAKER: \nDr. Faith Kibuye \nWater Resources Extension Specialist and Affiliate Faculty \nPenn State University

SUMMARY:AWRA 2026 Geospatial Water Technology Conference
DESCRIPTION:MAY 18-20\, 2026 | NIAGARA FALLS\, NY\n  \nGeospatial Water Technology is central to understand and solve problems related to water resources. While geospatial data continue to grow in all three dimensions\, including space\, time and size\, modern tools such as high-performance cloud computing\, geospatial data visualization\, data analytics\, and machine learning/artificial intelligence have enabled the development of novel decision-making frameworks and web-based applications that are integral to the water resources management.
