He also served in many key leadership positions such as Secretarial Tribal Advisory Committee for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services\, President of the Affiliated Tribes of Northwest Indians\, President of the National Congress of American Indians\, President of the Association of Washington Tribes\, Executive Board Washington Indian Gaming Association\, and other regional and national roles. \nHis work for the advancement and empowerment of Tribes across the country has been based on Tribal Sovereignty and is also the foundation of his vision for the prosperity of future generations. Cladoosby has been instrumental in the domestic and international emergence of the northwest Indian country salmon and seafood industry. Swinomish Fish Company buys and sells seafood products from tribal\, national\, and international companies\, continuing the “buy and sell Native” motto of Indian Country. \nCladoosby’s work also touched on all aspects of governmental responsibilities with highlights that include working with the federal government to improve Tribal engagement\, the authorization of Dental Health Aide Therapists (DHATS)\, Economic Development – “Buy Native”\, Natural Resources – “Standing with Standing Rock”\, and the didgwálič Wellness Center. \nCladoosby’s national and regional work affects Tribes across Indian Country and his work on behalf of Swinomish stands as examples for all of Indian Country. \nPlease read WSU Executive Policy 41 prior to your attendance.\nRSVP HERE

DESCRIPTION:The Office of Research and Office of the Provost support the annual New Faculty Seed Grants to help junior faculty develop research\, scholarly\, or creative programsthat lead to sustained professional development and extramural funding. This program supports projects that will significantly contribute to the PI’s long range goals by kick-starting a more complex project or idea. Projects with a strong potential to lead to significant external funding and/or PI portfolio development are encouraged. \nAwards may not exceed $25\,000. \nThe 2024 application cycle begins November 1. A Notice of Intent is required and must be submitted by 5pm December 1\, 2023 in order to be considered for this program. DESCRIPTION:On October 2-4\, 2023\, Boise State University will host the 12th Northwest Climate Conference (NWCC) as a fully virtual conference. This conference has provided a networking and learning community for practitioners\, scientists\, tribal members\, and community organizers interested in climate change impacts and adaptation in the Northwest for over a decade. The NWCC is committed to supporting equitable climate adaptation outcomes and building equity and diversity in climate science\, policy\, and adaptation practice. We encourage our conference attendees and presenters to advance the conversation around climate justice both as a stand alone topic and across the many other topics and themes profiled in the conference. SUMMARY:AWRA Washington Section Annual State Conference 2023
DESCRIPTION:“The Four Corners of Washington – Water Resource Changes and Adaptations”\n  \nThe conference will highlight water challenges throughout the four corners of Washington State and the innovative ways that individuals are dealing with those issues. The conference will feature speakers from each of the four corners of Washington with varying perspectives\, including agriculture\, government\, and tribal nations. Speakers will cover topics including municipal water law\, adjudication\, fish reintroduction\, the Yakima Basin Integrated Plan\, and climate change. The conference will start with an address from our keynote speaker\, Derek Sandison\, who is the director of the Washington State Department of Agriculture. Following Derek Sandison’s address we will have four separate panels\, one dedicated to each corner of Washington. The last session will focus on more overarching\, or non-region-specific changes and adaptations.
