DESCRIPTION:Portland\, Oregon  \nWednesday\, October 9-11\, 2024 \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis year’s theme\, “Limnology – The Next Generation\,” was chosen to showcase advancements in lake research and management in the Pacific Northwest\, and to elevate the voices of young professionals and future limnologists! \nWALPA invites you to share your latest project or research at the 2024 Joint Lakes Conference. Abstracts may be submitted for presentations and/or posters. Potential session topics include\, but are not limited to the following: \n  \n\nNovel lake monitoring technologies\, including satellite-based monitoring\nExciting new lake management technologies\nNutrient pollution source tracking\nHarmful algal blooms (HABs) research\nAquatic invasive species\nAlgae and aquatic plant management\nFish ecology\nUrban lakes\nConservation of lake ecosystems\nVolunteer monitoring and community science\nStudent research\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbstract Submission \nPlease submit your abstract online at OLA’s website. Your submission should include: \n\nyour presentation title\nauthor(s)\, noting lead presenter and any student authors\npreference of an oral or poster presentation\,\npreference for day of presentation\, and\nan brief description of your presentation or poster at 300 words/3\,000 characters or less (.pdf or .docx format).\n\nAbstracts are due August 1st.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

DESCRIPTION:Board on Earth Sciences and Resources Fall 2024 Meeting\nOctober 10\, 2024 | 1:00 PM – 5:15 PM ET\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nREGISTER NOW\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nClean air and water are prerequisites for good health. However\, there is a need to bridge the divide between the Earth sciences and public health so that complex environmental health problems can be solved. \nThe Board on Earth Sciences and Resources (BESR) Fall 2024 Meeting will highlight innovative approaches to geohealth research\, focusing on effective collaboration strategies and emerging geophysical and geochemical data that can be used to improve population health.
