DESCRIPTION:Center of Excellence for Water Second International Symposium on Applied Water Research in Private and Public Sectors \nCairo\, Egypt \n  \nThe Center is a USAID-funded project with the overall goal to develop Egypt’s water resources to benefit the Egyptian economy and its people. The Center serves the needs of the Egyptian economy\, including industry\, and supports the government to face water challenges\, developing policies\, and preparing the next generation of graduates and entrepreneurs. The main activities of the Center focus on curriculum reform\, capacity development\, commercialization of high-quality applied research\, and technology transfer to aid in achieving Egypt Vision 2030 goals. \nAin Shams University (ASU) is the Egyptian partner university organizing the symposium in 2023. \nThe symposium will address the main five topics identified in the national research roadmap (NWRRM) under the oversight of the Center’s Research and Policy Committee (RPC): \n\nWater Use Efficiency\nIntegrated Water Resources Management\nSafe Treated Wastewater\nNon-conventional Water Resources\nRemediation and Restoration of Water Bodies.\n\nEach of the research topics will be discussed thoroughly in a unique dedicated session using multiple approaches\, including: \n\nnew advances and technology\,\napplied research projects\,\nchallenges and opportunities within the public sector\, and\nchallenges and opportunities of the private sector.
